History
Naji Dekharn is the founder and CEO of Progressive Health Alliance LLC. What started out as an option quickly turned into a passion as PHA quickly evolved into a resource and support organization with programming and professional development. Her pathway to Progressive Health Alliance began at the age of 21 when she started her first company in human relations and sales.
"I remember crying to a friend one day because I felt the odds were stacked against me; I felt as though Corporate America wasn't taking me seriously, and she asked me an important question: 'Do you have a mentor?' Outside of my mother, who was a serial entrepreneur and had been through many of the same experiences I had, there was no one who lived where I lived that served in that capacity for me," Dekharn says.
She looked for role models by watching biographies of women of color that she wanted to be like and was inspired by women, such as Madam C. J. Walker, America's first female self-made millionaire who ran a hair and skin products business. An Forbes April Anthony who was also a self made millionaire in the very male dominated home healthcare industry. Naji started her company Progressive Health Alliance, named after her own personal mantra, "life is always about forward progression, it's never too late to be who you could have been".
One area of crucial support Progressive Health Alliance boasts is forging behavioral health care access to individuals who feel as though life may have left them behind with no direction. Naji's vision was designed to give every child a chance to succeed academically, socially and emotionally in today's changing society with the proper guidance. Progressive Health Alliance's philosophy includes the assumption that, given the opportunity, all individuals are capable of a level of problem solving and growth.
